Spring has come and gone a few times this year. There have been some teasingly warm days. The daffodils seemed to appear and bloom in the course of a few days. While the flowers continue to shine brightly, there has been more than one dusting of snow. Just a few nights ago it was white once again.
I hear cold fronts are quite common during lambing season. About a week ago, lambs started multiplying in the fields; cuddled up to their mums, chasing each other in circles, or bouncing up and down as if on a trampoline. This is a busy time for crofters.
There is this amazing feeling of being on the brink of big change. Plants are about to go through a growth spurt and the birds are starting to breed. The changeable nature of this place may be its most amazing quality.
