Simmer Dim

Simmer dim.

The summer twilight when the sun only dips below the horizon a few hours in the Northern Atlantics. Even the term makes me feel warm, as if I am basking in the lovely golden light of a sunrise or sunset.
I am not that far north but I am enjoying beautiful, long days. I have not seen much darkness as of late. I am getting used to heading to bed in the dusk. Almost every night I wake up with the unsettling feeling that I have slept through my alarm, only to find it is 4:30 am.

It is freeing to know that I have 5+ hours of daylight after I finish a full day of work. (I also have 5+ hours of daylight before I start work...which I usually sleep through). It is hard to not just stay awake for all the daylight hours...but although I have passed my probation period at my new job, I think it best to avoid falling asleep on my keyboard. So I am picking my moments.

May you all have a wonderful summer solstice!
