New digs

Another new place for me...moving in winter...interesting. I loaded my car in the dark with 50+ mph winds. We will see if I am missing anything. If so, it is long gone. I unloaded my car in freezing temperatures with a downpour of sleet stinging my face. A mixture of swearing and laughing ensued. I am in and settled. It is wonderful to unpack after five months. And I have a working washing machine again!

I loved living in the house I was in. It may have been easier to leave that house in the middle of winter when it was very cold. If I had been there this past week, I would not have been able to drive the road out due to black ice. And as I was rarely home when it was light outside, there was not much wildlife watching. Luckily there is no shortage of beauty here and it surrounds you no matter where you live.

This recent frosty spell included clear night skies. I was thrilled to find that I can see the Northern Lights from my new place (I am in a more populated area and was worried there may be too much light around to see them).

This week, I took the bus twice. So beautiful to walk to the bus stop in the pre-dawn.
